There is a well worn clich?: “if you don’t know where you are going, how do you know you have arrived when you get there?” Before I left New Zealand for the mission field where I accomplished much of what I set out to do, I attended an intensive Bible School course with a class of about 20 students. During a vacation time back in New Zealand I met up with one of my companions from this class and he told me that few really did anything after graduating.

“I was always the oddball in the family,” admits Don Tolman. “I was a vegetarian from the time I was born. I didn’t like the smell of meat while the rest of my family weren’t vegetarians, and my father was the ‘Great White Hunter’.” Don’s interest in food took on a different dimension at a very young age, not at public school or a school for culinary chefs, but at Sunday School. What he heard there would affect the rest of his life, though he didn’t become a priest. When Don heard the Sunday School teacher talk about a food that is mentioned in the Old Testament that made children smarter, he became determined to learn more.
