The Self Improvement Mandate Act Four
The Self Improvement Mandate Act Four
Do you spend a lot of your time complaining and despairing about your life and why you haven’t got what you want? Be honest with yourself - it is likely that you do. In this penultimate post on the self improvement mandate I want to cover a very important subject - Gratitude.
If you want true success in your life you need to start being grateful for what you have now, no matter how small or insignificant you think it is
Through my many years of experience helping people with their self improvement, getting them to change from bitching about everything from the weather to the government has always been the hardest transition to make. The reason for this is simple - they have become masters of moaning!!!
But the pain of this change is worth it’s weight in gold. If you are into the law of attraction you will already know that gratitude is a cornerstone of its teachings. The trouble is that people sometimes find it hard to believe that by making this difficult change in their life that they will reap rewards from it.
This is understandable but I want you to trust me as your friend and believe…… Take a leap of faith into the world of gratitude. See the thing is that you have nothing to lose. I proved that to myself a long time ago. A few years ago I was really down on my luck. My business ventures were not going to plan (by a long way) and I was really struggling to make ends meet. Everything seemed to be going wrong - my car collapsed on me, I got a giant tax bill that I wasn’t expecting, the roof on my house was leaking water and a number of other things had gone tits up.
So what would most people do in this situation? Give up? Think things like “why is this happening to me?” Get drunk every day? Well I have to tell you I thought about those things but I was also aware of the art of gratitude and the “give to receive” philosophy so to everybody’s surprise around me I went for this full on.
And the result - I never looked back. My business ventures took surprising upturns, some people that owed me money for a long time (and that I had mentally written off) suddenly paid me, even the weather remained dry for three weeks (which was a miracle at Spring time in London) so that I could get the money together to get my roof sorted.
Now the skeptical among you might be thinking right now that this was all coincidence. But I will tell you this - I have never stopped being grateful since then and my life has been amazing. Have I had problems since? Of course! But they don’t stress me out any more as I know that I can fix anything.
OK here’s what to do. The next time you feel like complaining about something try this. Let’s say that you are channel surfing on your TV and none of the four million channels that you have are presenting anything remotely interesting for you. Don’t moan about it. Be grateful that you have a TV with four million channels and also be grateful that because there is nothing interesting for you to watch means that you can spend your time learning something new or spending time with your kids etc. Keep this example in your mind and use it every time you feel like complaining.
This self improvement mandate series is all about giving you the tools to become a winner in your life. If you have followed the series so far then it would be crazy to fall down at this point. Just be grateful for your life and the things in it and you will see some amazing results. In Your Self Miracle I give you many effective tools to make gratitude a long lasting weapon in your self improvement armory.
The last part of the self improvement mandate will be on an Ask Sledge channel very soon…

I love your article. sometimes we can’t choose what happens to us but we could certainly choose how to react to it. No matter how hard our situation maybe, there’s always something to be grateful about. Training our self to see the glimpse of light in the midst of the dark ness is easier said than done. However, from personal experience, I could say that gratitude is a skill that we can cultivate until it becomes a life style. Then, we can sit back and relax and reap the rewards in every aspect of our life.
Thanks for good news! Your site is very useful for me.Welcome to my blog
