The Transformation Of Resistance
Have you looked Resistance in the eye? If you live on the earth, in a human body, you surely have.
Resistance causes us to procrastinate, loose steam on our passions, give up, never try in the first place and make excuses. Resistance is your major block between where you are and where you want to be.
The most informative, entertaining and inspiring book I’ve read about the nature of what keeps us stuck and small, is Steven Pressfield’s, The War of Art.
Here are three gems, quoted from this inspiring book, along with questions you can ask yourself to gain insight into your own personal Resistance. I show you how you can combine Pressfield’s genius with EFT tapping.
Your answers can become your tapping script with Emotional Freedom Tapping. At each tapping point, say one of your answers. Go here for training or a refresher on tapping technique tips.
Pressfield says: Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance.
I know you’ve had glimpses of your unlived life. These glimpses come when least expected. When tragedy or illness strikes. When you’re alone - late at night or in nature.
At these poignant times, we see who we could be if we followed our dreams.
Answer these questions to help you understand the nature of your own Resistance.
If you lived your unlived life, what would you have to give up?
It wouldn’t be safe to live your unlived life because… (finish that statement)
Who would you upset
Would you recognize yourself if you lived the life you most want to live?
By tapping on the meridian points while answering the questions, you help to narrow that gap between who you are and who you want to be.
Pressfield: Look in your own heart. Unless I’m crazy, right now a still small voice is piping up, telling you as it has ten thousand times, the calling that is yours and yours alone.
Sit down, tune inside and pose these questions.
What does my heart have to say?
What is my still small voice saying?
What is my unique calling?
Use what you hear as your EFT script.
Here’s Pressfield: Resistance is not a peripheral opponent. Resistance arises from within. It is self-generated and self-perpetuated. Resistance is the enemy within.
Here are some questions to help you learn more about your internal enemy.
What enemy arises from within you?
How do you self-generate your Resistance?
In what ways do you convince yourself that your opponent is outside of you?
How do you perpetuate your Resistance?
Tap on your answers. It will bring you closer to living your unlived life. It will help enlist the enemy within to be your ally. With Emotional Tapping, you can transform your Resistance and you life.
